Saturday Lafayette Chapel Margaret B. Strucker No Service Helen W. Bothel Visitation 1-2 p.m. Saturday West Lafayette Chapel Service 2 p.m. Saturday West Lafayette Chapel Julia Catherine Cook, 66, of West Lafayette, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2015, at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.

She was born December 3, 1948, in Lafayette, to James Russell and Louise Virginia Glick Cook. Julia attended Rossville Schools and graduated from Clinton Prairie High School in 1966, and attended Purdue University, School of Beauty Culture and Ivy Tech. From 1966 to 1991, she worked at Purdue University. Julia then worked at Mulberry Health and Retirement Community until 2002. She enjoyed painting, photography, reading, and gardening especially gardening.

Julia is also a published author. She was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Mulberry, Wabash Valley Watercolor Society, Master Gardener, Lafayette Great Banquet, and Fabric Guide at the Lafayette Art Center; she was a former member of Edna Mills Home Ec Club. Surv iving are her sisters, Frances Olmstead of Mulberry, Evelyn Joan Donahue of Escondido, CA, and Norma Ruth Miller of Cutler; one brother, Richard Wayne Cook of Indianapolis; 11 nieces and nephews, and several great-nieces and nephews. Visitation for Julia will be held on Monday, February 9, 2015, at Genda Funeral Home Mulberry Chapel from 12:00 p.m. to the start of the funeral service at 2:00 p.m.

Julia Catherine Cook, 66 Williamsport, IN Clara (Clark) Lee Hillyer, age 90, of Williamsport, IN died at Aperion Care in Peru, IN at 5:16 p.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2015 where she had been a resident since January 2011.

Clara was born on February 29, 1924 in Covington, IN. She was the daughter of Charles E. and Winona Clark. She was a 1941 graduate of Attica High School. She had lived in Catlin, IL from 1955 until moving to Williamsport in 1984.

She married Henry E. Lee on September 23, 1950 and he preceded her in death on July 23, 1982. She later married S. Wayne Hillyer on April 24, 1984. He preceded her in death on May 4, 2012.

Clara was a member of the Catlin Church of Christ in Illinois. She worked for Harrison Steel Casting Company, General Electric, Peterson Puritan, and Catlin True Value. She enjoyed going to rummage sales, mushroom hunting, and especially watching her grandchildren play sports. Surviving are 1 son, Jim Lee (wife: Sherry) of Owasso, OK; 1 stepdaugh- ter, Andrea Kay Hammersley (husband: Richard) of Peru, IN; 1 stepson, Randall Wayne Hillyer (wife: Cathy) of Lafayette, IN; 4 grandchildren, Tony Hillyer of Clarks Hill, IN, Jason Hammersley of Benson, NC, Brad Hammersley of Peru, IN and Richie Lee of Owasso, OK; 8 great-grandchildren, Kaleb Hammersley, Blake Hillyer, Rachel Hammersley, Lucas Hammersley, Destiny Ancil, Ashley Ancil, Brandy Smith and Brook Smith, 1 great-great-grandson, Payton Smith. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport, IN on Monday, February 9, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

gradyfuneralhome.com. Clara (Clark) Lee Hillyer, 90 John H. Baugh, 72, of Battle Ground, IN, passed away at home at 5:45 a.m. on Wednesday, February 4, 2015. Born June 28, 1942 in Lafayette, he was the son of the late Otis and Dorothy (Kutchera) Baugh.

He was a 1960 graduate of Battle Ground High School. John honorably served in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1966 and was stationed at Ft. Knox, KY, Ft. Wainwright, Alaska, and the Pentagon.

John married Gail Hainje on September 8, 1979 in Lafayette and she survives. He was a mail handler for the U.S. Post for 30 years. He was a life member of the American Legion Post 492 and a former volunteer "reman for the Battle Ground Fire Department. He loved "shing on the Wabash River, mushroom hunting, and was an avid IU fan, especially when there was a Purdue fan around.

Surviving are his wife, a stepson, Mark Crowley (Jenni) of Noblesville, siblings, Mike Baugh of Marston Mills, MA, Marilyn Martin of Lafayette, and Diane (Brad) of Brookston, two grandchildren, Mikayla and Maleah, several brother and sisters in law, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Richard Baugh. Visitation from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, February 8, 2015, with Poppy Service at 4:45 p.m., at Hippensteel Funeral Home.

Funeral service at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Monday with Chaplain Chuck Parker Burial to follow at Battle Ground Cemetery. Baugh Fowler-Raymond E. Goetz, 94, died February 3rd, 2015, at Cumberland Pointe, West Lafayette. Born May 9, 1920 in Earl Park to Albert and Elizabeth Cahill Goetz, he was a 1938 graduate of Fowler High School. On April 6, 1948, he was married to Rita Brouillette, who preceded him in death in 2009. Surviving are four children: Ron (Mary) of Fowler, Karen Karrenbauer (Je!) of Clifton, VA, Anne Miller (Mike) of Indianapolis, and Bill (Marsha) of Indianapolis, 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Ray was preceded in death by his brothers: Cyril, Robert, Leonard, and sisters: Bernadine Patnaude and Genevieve Long. Ray was the oldest WWII veteran in Benton County. He was a Sta! Sergeant and Crew Chief with a C-46 squadron of the U.S. Troop Carrier Forces in France. He earned seven campaign participation stars in his European ribbon and the Presidential Unit Citation ribbon for his participation in the D-Day invasion.

He was proud of his military service and subsequent service with the Honor Guard of Legion Post in Fowler. From 1948 until 1987, Ray excelled as a dealer with International Agricultural and Truck Division obtaining many sales awards, and developing many life-long friends. He greatly enjoyed managing his equipment auctions which drew repeat customers from throughout the Midwest. After retirement, Ray worked for Demeter and Whiskey Barrel Planters, while managing a warehouse and voluntarily shuttling his grandchildren and their friends to pre-school and Kindergarten. He loved children, they loved him, and they all respectfully called him Grandpa.

He was a member of the American Legion and Sacred Heart Church, where he often served as a greeter for Sunday masses. Ray will be remembered most for what many, many people would call his of He loved his wife, his family, his many friends, and his community. He never took himself too seriously, considered himself last, and always had kind words and time for everyone he encountered without passing judgment. He spread laughter and a contagious enthusiasm for life wherever he went. Every grandchild felt he or she had a very special loving relationship with their grandpa.

Both Ray and his children would like to thank the Cumberland Pointe sta! in West Lafayette where he resided this last year. Their care was exceptional, professional, and personal. His personality energized the nursing facility and those who cared for him. The rosary will be held at 4:00 PM on Monday, February 9th, followed by visitation until 8:00 at Windler Funeral Home, Fowler. Mass will be Tuesday, February 10th, at 10 AM at the Sacred Heart Church, with military services following at the Sacred Heart Cemetery.

In lieu of $owers, donations may be made to the Benton Community Foundation or Sacred Heart School. Raymond E. Goetz, 94 New Richmond Ralph F. Kunkel, age 94, of New Richmond, died peacefully in his home, 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 4, 2015 following declining health.

He was born March 24, 1920 in Stone Blu" and was a son of the late Fowler and Elizabeth Vail Kunkel. He married Lois Lane on September 6, 1941 in Jamestown and she preceded him in death, October 6, 2010. Ralph had resided in New Richmond since 1930, was a graduate of New Richmond High School and served with the US Army Signal Corps. In 1945 he established Kunkel Plumbing Heating and operated it until retiring in 1982. He also served as of the New Richmond Cemetery for over 20 years.

Ralph was an active member of the community, serving as an original board member that established Coal Creek Fire Rescue, a volunteer for over 25 years, board member of the former New Richmond Savings Loan, an active member of the New Richmond Masonic Lodge, where he moved through the chairs twice and a member for nearly 65 years. He also belonged to the Scottish Rite and Murat Shrine. He had been attending Church of Abundant Faith. He had served as a volunteer at the Indiana Veterans Home in West Lafayette for 25 years. Ralph served as an in the of the movie some of which was in New Richmond.

He enjoyed relating stories of that experience. Ralph knew the infrastructure of New Richmond and assisted with locating and identifying underground utilities as new lines were installed. For his dedication to the town of New Richmond, a street was named in his honor, Kunkel in July 2014. Ralph had a kind, gentle nature, a quick wit and never met a stranger. He leaves a community full of friends.

Surviving are; a son Roger (Janice) Kunkel and a daughter, Janet Brown both of New Richmond. Sister, Marjorie Cox of Romney. Three grandchildren: Lisa (Will) Hampton of New Richmond, Michelle Kunkel of Fishers and Ryan (Anita) Brown of New Richmond. Great- grandchildren Britta, Derek and Haley Hampton, Riley Brown, Scott Newkirk, Great-great grandchildren: Maddison Boswell, Owen and Ryder Newkirk. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, grandson Scott Kunkel, two sisters, Maxine Bridge and Betty Ellis, a brother Donald.
