Bruno Fernandes speaks out on Man Utd’s Premier League form and he makes an important admission after the Bournemouth draw
Bruno Fernandes started the Premier League clash on Sunday and the Manchester United captain saw out the full period of the 1-1 draw against Bournemouth.
United have only won 10 Premier League matches from 34 fixtures and the Red Devils have struggled to turn around their league form at Old Trafford this season.
Speaking after the contest at the Vitality Stadium, Fernandes said that a major focus for United was not to lose to Bournemouth ahead of their Europa League clash.
The 30-year-old United and Portugal midfielder also admitted that the Red Devils are not playing at their “best level” in the Premier League in the 2024-25 season.
“It was very important not to lose the game today,” Fernandes told Sky Sports, as per BBC Sport.
“We’re not at the best level in the Premier League, so we needed to get something. It’s not the result we wanted, but we had to push a little to get something.
“We did enough to at least score one goal. We created enough chances to score more than one goal, but it’s still not enough from us.”

Fernandes suggested that United players need to “have more anger” against opposition defenders and they must be “more brave” in the final third.
“We need to be have more anger than the defenders to get the ball,” he added.
“To get [the ball] first, you need to be focused in everything you do in training. That’s what we have to do from now on.
“We should have done it already and we’ve been doing it in training, but you need to do it in games.
“Sometimes you get one chance and you score a goal, and sometimes you get 10 or 15 chances and don’t score.
“With the team we have, we need to get more bodies in the box, create more danger, be more active in the box, and outside the box be much more brave to take our chances.”
United will now travel to Spain and will meet Athletic Club in the first leg of the Europa League semi-finals on Thursday at the San Mames Stadium in Bilbao.
